I want to quickly share a card I made for our daughter & son-in-law to take to a wedding they were attending last weekend.
I recently saw a tutorial for making a wedding dress from a Spellbinders die and decided that would be a perfect start for this card. The wedding invitations were cream and dark brown, so that was the color scheme I decided to use. To add a little extra detail to the dress, I stamped swirls with the Frost Versamark Ink to make a tone on tone effect (this doesn’t show up on the picture, but is a subtle effect in person). The cream colored pearls used to enhance the flowers on the hemline of the dress were taken from a Recollections faux pearls embellishment that I disassembled (the matching swirl is attached to the top right portion of the card). The sentiment was embossed with copper embossing powder.
If you are looking for an excellent tutorial for creating one of these cute dresses, hop on over to Valita’s Designs and Fresh Folds. Valita is an extremely talented artist and has a plethora of fabulous ideas on her blog.
