My hubby asked me to make a card for a business acquaintance to congratulate he and his fiance’ on their recent engagement. Since I’ve never met the couple I wasn’t sure if I should go with a frilly type of card, something rather simple using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a sentiment, or should I just go with my instincts. After some pondering, I decided to go with my instincts and hope they enjoy the card.
I used the Sarah Kay stamp called “A kiss for Chloe” because I thought it was the perfect image to depict a young couple’s love for each other at this special time in their lives. I colored the image with my favorite Prismacolor Pencils and used Gamsol to smooth out and blend the colors. It took me awhile to find the right card stock and paper colors, but in the end I decided I liked the combination of dark brown, ivory and pink.
Supplies use for this project:
Sarah Kay Clear Stamp – “A kiss for Chloe”
Anna Griffin Stamp- “Love”
Pink & White polka ribbon from Piggy Tales
Dark Brown & Naturals Ivory card stock – SU
Background paper – Hot Off the Press
Light pink paper – ?
Pearls – The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Close to Cocoa & Chocolate Chip Classic Ink – SU
Crystal Effects (I use this to adhere the pearls as the glue dot type of adhesive they come with doesn’t always hold)
Fabri-Tac – (to adhere the bow to the front of the card) – I love this stuff for permanently affixing bows & fabric type elements
Stamping Spongs – SU
Until next time….. Have a blessed day!
