Last week was amazing, I received 2 packages in the mail from contests I entered online. What makes it so amazing is the fact that I even won a contest since I’ve never won a blog contest before, and then ended up winning 2 contests in a row.
The first contest I won was from Eclectic Paperie Blog, a blog for an online store by the same name. I recently discovered EP while looking to purchase the Glue Gun Helpers from Plaid and just by good luck discovered Eclectic Paperie. I immediately perused the store offerings and found many of my favorite product lines including the Imaginesce Cordless Glue Gun which I wrote about in an earlier post.
When I discovered that I had won the contest I thought I would receive one bottle of Alcohol Ink which would have been terrific, so you can imagine my surprise when I opened the box and discovered all of the amazing goodies included in the package. There were 12 bottles of Alcohol Inks, a Blending Tool, Alcohol Ink Refillable Pen, 3 spools of Heidi Swapp ribbon, buttons from Basic Grey, Inkssentials Artist Trading Cards, and a package of Really Big Chips from Bazzill. I was just giddy with excitement. If that wasn’t enough, there was another special bonus from Daisy, a gorgeous handmade tag made especially for me. I don’t know how she knew about my love for birds and nature, just coincidence I’m sure, but nonetheless there was a beautiful image of a bird on the tag she made. Thank you so, so much Daisy for this incredible gift. I can’t wait to make some beautiful projects with all of these great products!!!
Now onto my second incredible win from the very popular and amazing blog called “The DIY Dish”. I won a set of 15 fat quarters from the Riley Blake Collection called “Sugar and Spice” courtesy of the new and unique quilt shop called “My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe” run by twin sisters Kim & Kris. In addition to the fat quarters, I also won 2 inspirational quilt books by Abbey Lane Quilts. The first book is entitled “Blooming Possibilities” and the second “Fab Five” Fun, Fast & Flirty. Each book offers a variety of quilt projects that look to be very easy to put together. The projects, along with the fat quarters I won will be fun to work with to make some quilted goodness. My granddaughter, Morgan, has already taken claim to one of the fabrics and wants to make a skirt for Trea, her American Girl. I must say these fabrics are so incredibly beautiful, the colors are vibrant, and the combination of the colors are drop dead gorgeous. I only wish Kim and Kris lived in my area so their quilt shop would in my neck of the woods. If you haven’t seen all of the fantastic tutorials, websites and talents that Kim and Kris offer, hop on over to The DIY Dish and share in some of their creativity. And as they say at the close of each of their shows, “I hope that creativity has been served!” So from me to Kim and Kris I offer you both a heartfelt thank you for this fabulous gift and wish you every success with your new quilt shop.
