Here are pictures of the Easter baskets I made for our grandchildren who live in the area. I wish I could have made baskets for all 7 grandchildren, but the baskets were harder to ship, so I made the Easter boxes (pictures in an earlier post).
Each basket was made from a paper mache’ box (inspiration from Martha Stewart) and then covered with paper and decorated. I wanted the handles to be somewhat stiff, so I ended up covering stiff interfacing with ribbon and then adding some light weight wire. I then sewed along each edge to encase the interfacing and wire with the ribbon. It worked just fine.
The grass for the yellow basket was made by cutting a long strip of card stock and just making short cuts along the length and snipping to a point in some places. It was a bit tedious but it worked well and I liked the end result.
Some of the products I used are:
Some stamps from SU
Marvy Uchida punches
Paper & Card stock from various sources
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders
Small Flower & Butterfly Punches from Ecstasy Crafts
